GoHuntPA Toolkit app for iPhone and iPad
Enhance your hunting experience with the GoHuntPA ToolKit app from the Pennsylvania Game Commission. This exciting new offering is brimming with features created specifically for the modern hunter. Features like:
• Interactive maps that show a flag of all available state game lands within 50 miles of your location. When you tap on the flags of a game land that interests you, the app will display a full description of the property including acreage, how far away you are, types of game you may find and a link to a PDF of the official Game Commission map and more. The feature will also provide a GPS-driven navigation to the location so you can get set and be on your way to a great hunt.
• If you want to go a little farther from home, click the PA state map to see all the available state game lands that Pennsylvania has to offer. It’s fully populated to provide information like acres, topography, land-type, game and furbearer species for every tract of state game land so you can find the perfect location for your next hunt.
• Current sunrise/sunset times with weather reports and alerts.

It has all the tools a hunter could want. Its pretty data demanding so if you dont have the best cell service it might take a while to load maps. Only wish is that I could download maps for when I dont have cell service. That happens a lot in the hills up north. Im glad the PGC finally has a free app for hunters. Good job PGC!
I have not used this in the field yet, but it seems like it will come in handy. Its easy to use, smooth transitions between functions within the app, and intuitive navigation. The tracker did take a few minutes to find my location, but was very accurate in tracking my walk around the perimeter of my house. The state game lands pop up on the map, with coordinates for parking areas and gives you basic info about that location. I like the calendar feature, it added all of the seasons directly to my phone calendar. The regulations book is built in and searchable, and searching for a few things returned accurate results. Looking forward to testing out some of the features in areas Im familiar with, and can see how this would be handy if youre in a new area or just wanting to explore the techy side things. After Ive played around with it I will update on how the functions work in those areas without cell coverage, and what parts of the app need service in order to work.
I have game lands within 5 to ten miles of me and it wont pick them up. It only shows ones 20 to 30 miles away.
